It’s almost home time! I’m feeling totally relaxed but so excited to bring you a stash of new designs and themes I’ve been working on. A week of wellness therapies in beautiful Bali has done the trick. Before I left I did a little poll. Tell me what you’d love to see with a vintage twist and you didn’t disappoint! What comes first? The stamp or the cutter. This is what really happens behind the scenes in my little boutique business. I finish a design, send it to my laser, cross my fingers and test on any old icing I have left over. Then I go back, tweak what I need to, re-test, tweak again, take a rough kitchen top pic when I’m happy and then start designing a matching cutter. These pics are exactly that. My rough mid test process as I just ran out of time before we jetted off for a few days. All of our latest designs are on their way to our beautiful BA Bridget @crumbswithlove_ where the real testing will begin for these designs. I’m not calling this a Mother’s Day range as its intention is so much more. A celebration of the woman who became a mother. Whose identity underpinning her role as a mother remains unique and authentic. As a mum of 5 beautifully grown human beings, I’m immensely proud, there just aren’t words. I was a young Mum, learning as I went, hoping my babies would forgive the mistakes I made, the fumbling attempts to be perfect in every way and just grow into fearless, kind and adventurous young people…. And they did! I was a baby raising babies, largely unsupported by any nearby relatives and just trying my best, learning and growing alongside my little people. All I needed was love and I had plenty to share. It’s easy to assume the identity of ‘Mother’ but it takes a certain strength to remember and celebrate the women behind the most important role of your life. This collection celebrates you, your uniqueness, your strength, frailties and fears. A celebration of the beautiful woman you are. Releasing on my return from our mini break, I hope you can see the potential for celebrating women all year round with these designs. Let’s make a Cookie Crate….. Check out this cool hack using metal bookends! Absolute life saver for constructing 3D things. I’ll definitely be using this with my Cottages. Now practicality??? Let’s be real. Not the most practical thing for sales at Easter and a pain to package probably but these are for my beautiful Grand Babies so practicality goes out the window. When I’m baking for little people I’m always conscious of sugar overload. This way they get a nice cookie without loads of fondant. I love them dearly but I’m too old for bouncing off the walls 🤣 This way they can eat their Cookie Crate here and save the fondant covered cookies for home x I’m also putting together a digital download for instructions which you will be able to find in my Recipes page later this week. Each year I try and come up with something new to surprise my well versed cookie connoisseur’s. This year they will be 6 and 3 and they’ve been raised on Nanny’s cookies and expectations run pretty high. 3D things don’t really seem very practical for Easter when your pumping out orders but I couldn’t resist creating these super simple Cookie Crate’s which I’ll be filling with Bunny’s and Eggs for their Easter gift this year.
